Takween delivers diamond core drilling for mineral exploration programmes across Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Shield. Our company-owned rigs recover continuous core to depths of up to 1,500 m, giving your geologists intact rock for logging, structural measurement and assay, with sample integrity protected from the drill bit to the core tray.

Why diamond core drilling

Diamond core drilling cuts a continuous cylinder of rock with a diamond-set bit and brings it to the surface intact. Geologists see lithology, alteration, structure and mineralisation exactly as they occur in the ground, which is why core is the reference sample for resource definition and for testing targets at depth.

Diamond drilling is slower and costs more per metre than RC drilling, so most programmes use both: RC for fast coverage, then diamond holes where the geology, the grade or the depth calls for certainty.
